Nobody pays to be here.

Every event, business and listing on this site is here because it's happening in your community, not because anyone paid for it.

We gather, we don't report

2481 Maverick is an aggregator. We don't write news stories or create the information you see here. We gather it from local news outlets, councils, government services, venues, funeral directors and local families, and every item names its source and links back to it. The information belongs to them. If you're a source and want something changed or removed, tell us and we'll fix it straight away.

This site will never charge you. Not now, not ever. No paywalls, no subscriptions, no fees to list your event, club or notice. That's the deal, and it's written into our charter.

How we'll keep the lights on

Our goal is to reach as many locals as a local weekly paper: about 15,000 people. We're just getting started, so every share helps.

When we get there, local businesses will be able to reach that audience through a few ads in our email, and only there. This site stays ad-free. The ads will be selective (local and relevant to you), fairly priced and clearly labelled. Advertisers never get your name or email address, and we never sell your details.

We're not here to build an empire off our community. Just to make a fair living doing something genuinely useful for it.

Global vision, local thinking. 2481 Maverick is Maverick Digital's motto in action.

Big tech divided us. 2481 Maverick brings communities back together.
